Cypripedium Sabine

Cyp Sabine was registered in 2002 by Frosch and is one of the important classics. It is a cross of fasciolatum, which has large white flowers and is not particularly easy to maintain, and macranthos, which has large purple flowers, and is also not particularly easy to maintain. Sabine combined the two and has flowers larger than either parent and is a very easy hybrid to maintain. Here are four plants blooming at the beginning of May, 2019, each of which had one or two stems when placed in this raised bed in Fall 2015. Now each of these four plants has 5 - 8 stems. The bed is 4 feet from outside edge of the front 6x6 timber to the outside edge of the rear timber. These plants were leftovers in a growout bed for plants that were to be sold.
